I bought my Norman at Bridgehouse Marina in Garstang nr Preston in late 2014 I had looked at many boats on ebay and through various brokers and as my first ever boat purchase i settled on Solaris as the boat for me after having a survey carried out before any large sums of money changed hands, Some engine work was required mainly a new head gasket and I managed to knock the asking price down slightly due to the need the engine attention. After all work was completed I had her moved on a trailer and slipped at Sawley Marina this has been my home mooring ever since I needed somewhere easy to access by public transport as I don't drive, my main area of cruising is on the Trent and the Soar i tend to cruise around with my friends and my girlfriend though alas I'm limited to boating time as im employed full time in the NHS so I work a range of really odd hours and weekends. I added LED navi lights to the boat and later a LED tunnel light was added the change can be seen in the photographs attached, also the electrolux gas fridge has never worked when sold to me i was told it needed a service however i've had another boat yard look at it for me and they told me it's broken so i'm planning on having a 12v fridge fitted in the future. Also the lower wooden rubbing strake was removed it sat low in the water due to the weight of the BMC engine and I sadly found out i had a slow leak which ended up filling my bilge and making my oil drip tray float, on the boat been taken out the water it was found that the lower strake had been fitted to the hull with screws and silicone used to fill the hole thus causing the water ingress so it was removed and filled correctly and gelcoated over sadly this problem didn't show on the original survey. I also bought a Thetford 365 Pori Potti to replace the original one supplied with the boat though i cannot remember the brand of the one that I had originally and also had an automatic bilge pump fitted just incase,
