My first boat, bought as s sail away, unfortunately not moved far from region of purchase due to engine and steering fault's, then the discovery of corrosion throughout main interior right through to the hull. Rotten inundated stringers/ribs, caused possibly by leaks everywhere, from windows and broken worn outside rib rubbing strakes and rusty screws. Currently living a board and working on issues daily. Probably will have to lift into boatyard/marina to attempt a full restoration. Personally anti fouled boat at purchase before being lifted out of a marina into canal. Plan was to cruise back to London within one week almost 8 weeks ago. Never known anything at all about boats. A very slow deep endless learning curve. Still on the up side a treasure of a project to work on. Met some amazing boater's who have become good friend's that have helped me along the way with working on all the problem's I've incurred in my and their shocking disbeliefs and experience, as it was advertised as many little jobs that have spiralled into having to gut the main cabin completely. Going to re-design the floor and layout. Stove is in for winter. The damp was so bad I caught a chest infection and cold. Stove is helping dry us both out.
